  1. What is Deaf Celebration? The Deaf Celebration is an exciting event that brings deaf and hearing communities together. Over 75 exhibitors will have booths consisting of: hobbies, arts and crafts, home businesses, deaf culture info, technologies, memorabilia, government, interpreting, education, seminars and much more! We will have some exciting day and night entertainment for the children and adults.
  2. Is it true that Deaf Celebration used to be Deaf Awareness Week and Victory Day?
    Yes, it used to be called Deaf Awareness Week and Victory Day some years ago. We do not do the weeklong activities anymore.
  3. Is Deaf Celebration a tax exempt non-profit organization?  Is it incorporated?
    Yes, Deaf Celebration is the 501c(3) incorporated, tax-exempt, non-profit organization in Texas. If you need more information, please contact one of our Deaf Celebration officers or committees.
  4. Is the name “Deaf Celebration” a trademark? Yes, we got it trademarked in 2000. It may have lapsed since then.
  5. Is Deaf Celebration a family-oriented event? It is definitely yes. All day and night.
  6. Can tickets be purchased at the door for the evening performance?
    Yes, on the day of the event or at the door by 6:30 PM.
  7. Do I need to do pre-registration online? Yes, please. It would help us prepare how many people will come on that day. Note: If you prefer to discreet, tell admission and they will respect your decision, we just want to how many people for advertising / sponsors purpose.

  8. Is ATM machine available nearby?  Yes, there is one ATM machine in the vending machine room.
  9. Is a public TTY and/or Videophone available inside Richardson Civic Center?  Yes.
  10. Are we selling tickets before October 5th?  No, but it can be purchased at the door during the daytime of the event.
  11. Will there be a children’s area?  Yes, there will be a doodle and other activities during the day. We may add more activity as time goes by.
  12. Do we offer childcare?  No, we are not responsible for child care. Parents are required to supervise their kids all the time.
  13. Can I bring my friend who does not know sign language?  Yes, the event is open to the public. Please bring your family, friends and co-workers with you.
  14. Is Deaf Celebration selling annual T-shirt again this year? Yes! Come and check it out!
  15. Deaf Celebration is going sell raffle as part of fundraising? Not this year.
  16. Will there be food and drinks?  You can purchase light snack/drinks from Deaf Celebration booth. Also, there are several restaurants and fast foods near RCC as well. New! Crepe Crazy, deaf-owned Austin-based will come to DFW with their 24-feet food truck serving foods all day right next to RCC!
  17. Will the event be interpreted? Yes, there will be multiple volunteer ASL students & certified interpreter on-site during the day and the certified voice interpreters will be provided at night show.

  19. What are the special shows of the evening entertainment?
    • Kahoot!, ABC Luck, etc; we will have plenty prizes!!
    • Daymond Sands (Mistress of Ceremony)
  20. Is there a charge for parking lot at Richardson Civic Center?
    No, it is free.
  21. What is the Richardson Civic Center’s address? It is located at Richardson Civic Center
    411 W Arapaho Road, Richardson, Texas 75080 (Near Dallas, Texas)
  22. Is it easy to find the Richardson Civic Center?  Yes, RCC is right next to Richardson Public Library in Richardson, Texas. You can find the directions and map by clicking here.
  23. What is the public bus transportation look like? Yes, RCC have one by the building.
  24. Is there a hotel that Deaf Celebration had an agreement with near RCC of the participants to reserve? None this year.

  30. Do you offer Wi-Fi at booth area?
    Yes, the Richardson Civic Center provides free WiFi for anybody to use. – You will need to add Wifi on the site and follow instructions. We will post the name of WiFi and password at site.
  31. Can I join Deaf Celebration Team?
    Yes! Volunteers are always welcome to join aboard the team.  Please contact one of the Deaf Celebration committee by email or in person. The email address is info@deafcelebration.org.
