Presented by the Fire Prevention Association of North Texas (FPANT)
Richardson Fire Dept: Scott Eckstein
Fire Marshal’s Office Inspector, Paramedic, and was involved with SWAT tactical medical
responses. He is the son of Deaf parents (CODA).

Plano Fire Rescue: Peggy Harrell, Captain
She oversees the fire and life safety outreach efforts. She was a former teacher of deaf
students at Plano ISD’s Davis Elementary School.

Carrollton Fire Rescue: Watson Kohankie: Fire Safety Education Specialist, firefighter, and
paramedic. He is also an award winning writer on fire safety.

NOTE: Although the speakers will sign, the interpreter will be on stage for communication
support.
